L-Acoustics KARA II : Compact Line Array for Touring and Professional Sound Reinforcement
The L-Acoustics KARA II is a compact, high-performance line array loudspeaker designed for professional sound reinforcement applications where high output, precise coverage and efficient deployment are essential.
Part of the renowned L-Acoustics K Series, KARA II combines a dual 8-inch low-frequency section with a 3-inch high-frequency compression driver, delivering a maximum SPL of up to 142 dB and a usable bandwidth from 55 Hz to 20 kHz.

Compact Format, High Output
The KARA II is a 2-way active WST line source enclosure using two 8-inch neodymium cone drivers for low frequencies and a 3-inch neodymium diaphragm compression driver for high frequencies.
Despite weighing only 26 kg, it can deliver up to 142 dB SPL, giving it an excellent output-to-weight ratio for medium-format touring and installation applications.

Panflex Variable Directivity
One of the key features of the L-Acoustics KARA II is Panflex, L-Acoustics' adjustable horizontal directivity technology.
Panflex allows the horizontal coverage of each enclosure to be adapted to the audience geometry. KARA II can operate with 70° or 110° symmetric coverage, or with a 90° asymmetric configuration.
This gives sound designers greater control over where acoustic energy is distributed.
For example, the narrower configuration can be used to increase projection or reduce unwanted reflections from side walls, while wider configurations can provide broader audience coverage.
Panflex allows a KARA II array to be adapted more precisely to each venue instead of relying on a single fixed horizontal coverage pattern.
WST and DOSC Technology
KARA II benefits from two core L-Acoustics technologies: Wavefront Sculpture Technology (WST) and the DOSC waveguide.
WST is at the heart of L-Acoustics line source systems and is designed to ensure coherent wavefront propagation across an array. The DOSC waveguide supports controlled high-frequency coupling between neighbouring enclosures.
L-Vents for Controlled Low-Frequency Performance
The KARA II also incorporates L-Vents, L-Acoustics' laminar venting technology.
L-Vents are designed to minimise turbulence noise in the bass-reflex ports, allowing the low-frequency section to operate efficiently at high output levels.
For users, this translates into clear, controlled low-frequency reproduction and strong transient performance from a relatively compact enclosure.
KARA IIi for Fixed Installation
The KARA IIi shares the core acoustic performance of the KARA II but is specifically designed for fixed installation.
It retains the dual 8-inch active WST architecture, Panflex directivity and maximum SPL of up to 142 dB, while using installation-oriented connections and external rigging solutions.
Together, KARA II and KARA IIi allow system designers to use the same acoustic platform for both rental and installation applications.
Amplification and L-Acoustics System Integration
KARA II is designed to operate as part of the complete L-Acoustics ecosystem.
L-Acoustics specifies the LA4X, LA8 and LA12X amplified controllers for KARA II. These provide amplification, DSP processing, loudspeaker presets and system protection.
System designers can also use L-Acoustics software and processing tools to integrate KARA II into larger systems and optimise coverage for each venue.
This ecosystem approach allows loudspeakers, amplification and processing to be engineered together as one complete sound reinforcement system.
