An output rack can need different signal formats for different destinations. Decide which feeds remain analogue and which should use AES before selecting the connection mode and preparing the patch list.
Match the output to its destination
Identify the signal format expected by each receiving device and document the selected output configuration. Switching between analogue and AES affects the available channels and their routing, so the socket count alone is not a complete specification. Verify the digital sample-rate setting with the receiving equipment.
Integrate the rack into the system
Position the expander where the output cabling is most practical, then confirm the supported DX connection back to the host. Include power, cable identification and access for servicing in the rack plan. Redundant operation depends on compatible hardware; do not assume that a second cable provides redundancy in every system.
