Allen & Heath DX-HUB

Allen & Heath DX Hub distributes a compatible host audio connection to multiple DX expanders. It is an expansion hub for the audio system, not a microphone input stagebox or a general-purpose network switch.

Connectivity: Four DX Link ports each carry 32 x 32 channels of 96 kHz audio for the connected expanders.
Capacity: Each DX port supports one DX32 or a supported cascade of two fixed-format DX expanders.
System integration: A compatible gigaACE or SLink host connection provides the upstream audio link.
Mounting: An optional rackmount kit supports installation with the rest of the system equipment.

Working with the Allen & Heath DX Hub

Use the hub when the system needs several remote I/O locations rather than a single stagebox position. Start with a connection diagram showing the host, each expander and the audio paths between them.

Distribute I/O around the application

Group the required sources and destinations by physical location, then choose an expander arrangement for each branch. Check the supported cascade and channel mapping before allocating ports. The hub distributes audio connections; it does not increase the processing capacity of the mixer or matrix processor connected upstream.

Choose a supported host arrangement

Specify the correct host port or option card and verify the complete topology against the system guide. Redundant configurations require supported hardware and the appropriate arrangement; they are not a universal property of every hub installation. Document the intended operating mode so the cabling can be checked during commissioning.
