Allen & Heath AR2412

Allen & Heath AR2412 is a 48 kHz remote audio expander for compatible Allen & Heath systems. It places microphone inputs and line outputs away from the mixer or processor.

  • Audio inputs: 24 mic/line inputs provide connections for the sources on XLR sockets.
  • Outputs: 12 line outputs provide feeds to the rest of the audio system.
  • Connectivity: The dSNAKE audio link requires a compatible host connection; it is not a general-purpose Ethernet audio interface.
  • Format: A rack-oriented format keeps remote connections together in the system rack.

Working with the Allen & Heath AR2412

Bring a larger group of stage inputs and output feeds to one rack location. Plan the AudioRack as the remote connection point in the system, with processing and mix operation handled by the connected host.

Check the connection to your host

The sample rate and connection protocol matter when selecting the host. Confirm the supported port and complete expander arrangement before connecting equipment. A matching cable connector does not make dSNAKE, DX and Dante interchangeable; use the manufacturer connection guide for the intended system.

Put the connections in the right place

Allow for the rack position, power connection and practical access to the patching. Label the inputs and outputs to match the system documentation, and include the interconnection cable in the equipment plan. Commission the complete signal path rather than testing the rack in isolation.
