Minuit Une IVL Photon : Immersive Volumetric Lighting
The Minuit Une IVL Photon is a unique professional lighting fixture designed to create immersive beam structures, decorative effects and powerful visual moments from a single compact luminaire.
Developed after five years of research and development, the IVL Photon brings the scale and emotion of arena-style lighting into small and mid-sized venues. With its innovative 360° scanning system, eight independently controlled tilts and exclusive moving core, the Photon can generate an extraordinary variety of looks while requiring only a limited number of fixtures.

Make the Ordinary Extraordinary
The IVL Photon was created around a simple ambition: deliver large-scale immersive lighting effects in venues where using dozens of conventional moving lights would be impractical.
Minuit Une originally designed the fixture for venues in the 500 to 5,000-person range, where space, rigging capacity, power consumption and budget often limit the possibility of creating spectacular beam structures.
Instead of multiplying conventional fixtures, the IVL Photon uses a single central light source and a sophisticated optical architecture to fill a very large volume of space.
With only a few IVL Photon units, lighting designers can create deep perspectives, immersive tunnels, architectural effects and high-energy visual moments that would normally require a much larger lighting rig.
Three Outputs in One Fixture
One of the defining characteristics of the IVL Photon is its ability to produce three fundamentally different types of output from the same fixture :
Immersive Output
The mirror side of the eight tilts creates the Photon’s immersive output.
Each tilt produces a directional light plane with wide spatial coverage, allowing designers to build tunnels, layered perspectives, fans and geometric structures around performers and audiences.
This is the mode that gives the IVL Photon its distinctive volumetric character.
Rather than seeing individual fixtures, the audience perceives complete structures of light extending throughout the venue.
Decorative Output
Each tilt also includes a frost side.
When activated, the Photon produces a much softer and more diffused light, allowing the fixture to transition from a highly graphical beam effect to a decorative architectural look.
The transition from frost to mirror can happen in approximately 0.25 seconds, allowing designers to switch quickly between atmospheric and immersive effects.
The Moving Core
The Photon’s third output comes from its unique moving core.
This circular frosted reflector moves vertically through the centre of the fixture and acts almost like a variable zoom.
When raised, it intercepts the central light source and produces a concentrated, highly visible frosted output.
From the audience perspective, this can create a powerful ring of light, a blinder-style effect or intense stroboscopic moments.
The moving core can produce up to approximately 20,000 lux at the output, giving the Photon a completely different visual character when maximum impact is required.
Immersive Lighting for Mid-Sized Venues
The IVL Photon is particularly effective in environments where designers want a strong sense of scale without installing an arena-sized lighting system.
With appropriate haze and positioning, even a small number of Photon fixtures can create powerful three-dimensional structures throughout the room.
